What we do

What we write, review and build

Winning a bid means convincing the donor. You must show you know the work and have handled similar assignments. In-house drafting is costly and slow, and it invites last-minute, half-baked submissions.

Proposal development

Concept notes and full proposals built on research, partner mapping and the donor's guidelines.

Logframes and results frameworks

Clear logic from activities to outcomes, with indicators a donor can verify.

Editing and independent review

We score your draft as a reviewer would. Then we edit for flow, tone and errors.

Formatting and layout

Cover design, tables, diagrams and summaries that make the proposal easy to read.

Budgets and financial modelling

Budgets, cashflow projections, and scenario and sensitivity tests, validated before submission.

Grant writing capacity building

Coaching for your team in research, proposal writing and grant management.

Our approach

How we take a call for proposals to a submitted application

We write to the donor's scoring sheet. Reviewers should find every answer where they expect it.

  1. 1

    Screen and research

We check eligibility, fit, ticket size and deadline for the grant or technical bid. We research the donor, identify partners and run internal due diligence. We tell you early if the bid is not worth your time.

You getGo or no-go note and donor brief
  2. 2

    Shape the concept note

We frame the problem with data and state the proposed solution in one page. We estimate the budget. This wins the invitation to apply.

You getConcept note of two to three pages
  3. 3

    Build the logic

We draft the problem statement, Theory of Change, logframe and results framework. Activities, outputs and outcomes then connect cleanly.

You getTheory of Change and results framework
  4. 4

    Write the full proposal

We write the narrative, work plan, risk matrix, M&E plan and sustainability plan. We add GEDSI, climate and safeguarding sections where the donor requires them.

    You getFull narrative proposal
  5. 5

    Cost the work

We build the budget from the work plan, line by line. We add cashflow projections, then run scenario and sensitivity tests. We check it against the donor's cost rules.

You getBudget, budget narrative and tested model
  6. 6

    Review, polish and submit

We score the draft against the criteria and edit for flow, tone and errors. We format the cover, tables and diagrams. We run a compliance check and prepare annexes.

You getScored draft, formatted proposal and annex pack

Problems we fix
  • The problem statement has no dataWe add current, sourced figures and cite them.
  • The budget does not match the activitiesWe cost from the work plan, so each line traces to an activity.
  • GEDSI and climate are tacked onWe build them into the design and the indicators, not only a paragraph.
  • The proposal was written the night beforeWe agree a timeline backwards from the deadline, with review dates.
  • In-house drafting is costly and slowWe take the research and drafting load, so your team keeps delivering.
  • Nobody outside your team has read itAn outside critical review finds gaps before the donor does.

FAQ

Questions we hear most

What should a grant proposal include?

A clear problem statement, Theory of Change, results framework and a budget that matches the work plan. Read our grant proposal guide.

What is the difference between a concept note and a full proposal?

A concept note is a short pitch of two to three pages. A full proposal gives the complete design, work plan and budget. Donors often ask for the first before the second.

Can you review a proposal we wrote ourselves?

Yes. We give an outside critical review. We score it against the donor’s criteria and return marked comments. Many clients start this way.

Do you write technical bids and tenders?

Yes. We write technical and financial bids. We show your familiarity with the work and your track record on similar assignments.

Do you guarantee funding?

No one can. The donor decides. We raise the quality and fit of your application so it scores as well as it can.
